To help our customers we are setting up new helpful Internet Application pages to assist County, Township and Municipal offices prepare for upcoming property tax bills.

In many communities, we have seen that it has been very helpful for many of the taxing districts and bonding companies to use our County Clerk Property Tax Inquiry System to view on-line Clerk tax extension information. We help to provide this public record information at no charge to our customers. This can help to assist providing important information relating to the tax extension process and it can also be helpful to reduce the number of related phone calls for the County Clerk offices. We are also providing programs to allow bordering Counties to Inquire County Clerk Overlapping Tax District system to assist them in obtaining vital district information relating to the tax cycle.

We will continue to improve our Mortgage Company and Title company on line services to help the County Treasurer offices. A new service that we provide helped to provide delinquent information to many tax payment services including Transamerica and others. We saw an overall reduction of properties that went to tax sale and helped to reduce delinquencies through providing this service.

We have written programs to assist Township Assessors and Municipalities to provide Inquiry of property information directly over the Internet.

Our County Health Department systems are available to allow the offices to track county building permits, food permits, fees and inspections. This system provides full integration with our County and Municipal Building and Zoning Systems and our Property Tax Administration systems. New features will bring efficiency and improved communication to a County Health Department by allowing municipalities and village jurisdictions to provide the necessary information that will require County Health Department inspections and on-line administration follow-up.

We have been reviewing a solution to allow remote users to access a main county network through a secure Virtual Private Network (VPN). This system allows remote Townships, Health Departments, Municipalities etc. to access county applications through a secure firewall directly over the Internet. Be sure to reference every one of their customers public Newspaper articles or news stories on the operation of their system. Has their system generated negative press in the community?

When running important reports, do the reports always provide the same results?

Do they have too many customers and are unable to provide adequate software support and documentation?

Do they provide Internet based Inquiry applications to help address the growing need of a community for information requests?

What type of experience do their programmers have? Are they the original developers of the systems that they provide?

What is the contractual status of their first customers?

Did their customers have their tax bills mailed on time or were they sent late - due to lack of operational programs or inadequate support?

Do the programs generate on time tax distributions for the schools and the taxing districts?

Have their installed programs disrupted the Tax Cycle process or helped them to better meet County Tax Cycle deadlines?

Can they generate all of the required State of Illinois Abstracts for all of the Tax Administration Offices and are they accepted by the Illinois Department of Revenue?

Ask to see their entire list of customers that they have ever serviced. If this information is not made available, this most likely indicates a potential problem and signals a need of concern before signing a contract.

Before signing a contract, it is very important to call every one of their customers for references. What is the annual cost of related hardware and services that will be needed to properly maintain their system? Ask their customers about the actual charges that were added in after the contract was signed. Review all the hardware costs, the cost to maintain the hardware, hidden application software upgrade costs and software maintenance costs.
